Deze cursus wordt gegeven in het Engels en levert de deelnemer diepere kennis op van DICOM onderwerpen die inzetbaar zijn bij troubleshooting en biedt de deelnemer ervaring met hands-on troubleshooting. De hands-on focus ligt onder andere op het gebruiken van een DICOM sniffer en andere tools zoals validatie, simulatie en testen voor troubleshooting bij DICOM headers en connecties.
Ongeveer 1/3 van de tijd wordt besteed aan hands-on oefeningen. Het programma gaat verder in op best practices, quick references naar DICOM materiaal en verdieping in DICOM termen en regels. De nadruk van de cursus ligt op het behandelen van praktische onderwerpen en hands-on ervaring door het doen van oefeningen.
Leerdoelen
Aan het einde van deze cursus zijn deelnemers in staat om:
- Issues met betrekking tot DICOM connectiviteit te troubleshooten en verificatie, validatie en sniffer tools te gebruiken.
- Gebruik te maken van beeldbibliotheken en tooling om connectiviteitproblemen te testen.
- DICOM documentatie volledig in te zetten in de eigen setting en andere experts te betrekken.
- De belangrijkste DICOM SOP classes in detail te begrijpen.
- Voorbereidingen te treffen in de eigen setting voor nieuwe DICOM objecten zoals Structured Reports, geavanceerde SOP classes en andere recente extensies.

Voor wie
Deze hands-on cursus is bedoeld voor professionals die:
- Hun vaardigheden rondom DICOM protocollen verder willen verbeteren;
- Interesse hebben in het troubleshooten bij DICOM headers en connecties door gebruik te maken van tools voor validatie, simulatie en het testen hiervan;
- Bezig zijn met het installeren, configureren en beheren van DICOM gerelateerde systemen zoals PACS beheerders, technici en zorgprofessionals met een technische achtergrond.
Trainer: Dr. Marco Eichelberg
Marco is principal scientist at the OFFIS-Institute for Information Technology in Oldenburg (Germany) and has been involved with DICOM since 1993.
He is a co-developer of the DCMTK DICOM Toolkit and is providing training courses on DICOM, HL7 and IHE topics.
He serves as the Technical Manager for IHE Germany, a role that has been alternatively filled by him or by Michael Onken since 2002.

“Michael works in the area of DICOM for more than 15 years now. He is a co-developer of the DCMTK DICOM Toolkit maintained by OFFIS and is providing training courses on DICOM, DCMTK as well as IHE-related topics since the beginning. Also, Michael serves as a IHE “monitor” (referee)
at annual IHE Connectathons since 2006 without interruption.”
